Highlights from 2007 UMCVB Fall Conference
South Sioux City, Nebraska

The South Sioux City Convention & Visitors Bureau and its Nebraska partners kicked off the 2007 conference by showing their fellow bureaus “Where the West Begins” with a western-themed reception at Ponca State Park. The warm weather provided a perfect backdrop for the evening entertainment featuring actors in vintage cowboy attire and a Native American group performing traditional tribal dance.

The conference offered four tracks of educational sessions focusing on sales, CEOs, sports and marketing. Those tracks featured speakers such as Steve Siemens, CPS, Siemens People Builders; Mike Sansone, ConverStations; Angie Watson, Wells’ Dairy; and Bob Oliver, Northwest Iowa Transportation.

No other event offers bureaus from the seven states of the upper Midwest an opportunity to network with other CVB staff from throughout the region at such an affordable rate and relative convenience.

An ever-changing business environment makes the conference an ideal opportunity to exchange ideas and learn the latest trends. St Cloud, Minnesota hosts the 2008 Upper Midwest CVB Conference September 21-23 at the Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites.
